Dear precious colleagues, friends and clients,

2020 has been a very tough and difficult year for many of us. However, as we are approaching the last days of the year, we believe that it is important for us to find the silver lining and to recount our blessings for all the positive things that happened to us all over the past twelve (12) months.

For everybody at PRO Alliance, one of the biggest blessing for us is to have you all as our precious friends and clients. It is mostly due to your continuing trust and support, that PRO Alliance can survive and prevailed through all the hardships during this uncertain time.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its associated travel restriction, we were unable to maintain the pace of our rapid growth and to further expand our network as per our initial plan. Nonetheless, we are still grateful that we were able to welcome additional members to join our ranks. As of the end of 2020, we now have a solid network of nineteen (19) local professionals/PROs consisting of lawyers and notary publics, with presence in fifteen (15) cities within nine (9) provinces in Indonesia. These PROs are led by our four (4) partners that are based in Jakarta.

We are hoping that this pandemic situation will get better next year, so that we can continue to pursue our objective to have at least one lawyer in every province in Indonesia as soon as possible.

On the positive side, despite the tough economic and business climate during this pandemic, we are grateful and humbled that we had a substantial increase in professional engagement/appointment, both by existing and new clients. In this regard, we are pleased to consider 2020 as a largely successful year for PRO Alliance.

Among others, earlier this year we have successfully represented our client in negotiating the release of a grounded vessel, which initially was threaten by criminal prosecution and substantial compensation claim for (alleged) environmental damages. Further, we have managed to secure favourable decisions in almost all of our litigation proceedings before district courts and the Supreme Court.

Aside from the above, we have assisted a number of commodity traders in finalizing long-term coal sale and purchase agreements with total value of more than 3.6 trillion Rupiah. We are also pleased to share that as of this year, PRO Alliance has been included in the panel of legal counsel in several major banks, including Bank Mandiri and Bank Victoria. Moreover, PRO Alliance is also has been trusted by PT Pelabuhan Tiga Bersaudara to become their exclusive legal counsel for their historic project of twenty five (25) years concession to carry out port service at the Muara Berau ship-to-ship/STS transfer terminal at Kutai Kertanegara, East Kalimantan.

All the above achievements would never happen without the trust and great support from our clients, colleagues and friends. Therefore, we would like to thank you and to extend our deepest and most sincere appreciation. We are hoping that we can continue to rely on our precious cooperation and friendship in 2021 and for many years to come. On the other hand, we hope you know that you can always rely on us to assist you in any matter; as far as it is within our capability.

Lastly, we would like to wish a merry (but strictly compliant to the applicable health and safety protocol) and happy Christmas to all our friends, clients and colleagues who celebrate the occasion.

Further, we also would like to extend our season’s greetings and our best wishes for you and your loved ones in the upcoming year of 2021. Notwithstanding the current situation, we are hoping that you can have a joyful and relaxing time with your loved ones during this holiday season, so that you can embrace 2021 with positive outlook.
